Recently, Subaru of America Inc. proudly announced that the Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR Special had established a new four door sedan lap record at the world famous Nürburgring Norsschleife race track. Highlighting the capabilities found in the Subaru sedan and its all-wheel drive, the vehicle raced over the 12.8-mile course to a lap time of 6:57.5 -- as verified by Nürburgring timing equipment and track officials.
Subaru outfitted the sedan with a rally spec 2.0-liter Boxer engine and Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive; the WRX STI Type RA NBR Special owns lap records at Nürburgring Norsschleife, The Goodwill Festival of Speed hill climb and the Isle of Man TT.
In a press release, Dominick Infante, Subaru Product Communications manager, declared, "We brought the WRX STI Type RA NBR Special here to set a record and call attention to the WRX STI Type RA that we will launch later this year. The WRX STI Type RA promises a great deal, with improved performance and styling and even better handling dynamics than the current car."
