DC fast charging has been boosted from 100 kW to 150 kW, and a new battery preconditioning system optimizes charging times in varying temperatures. Subaru also swaps the previous CCS connector for the more universal NACS plug, making the Solterra compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network. Cosmetic updates include a redesigned front fascia, updated lighting and badging, and a newly added rear spoiler.

Performance, Range, and Charging

The 2026 Solterra retains its trusted dual-motor Subaru StarDrive® powertrain and specialized EV-tuned Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive System. Standard horsepower climbs from 215 to 233 miles per charge. Additionally, an all-new Solterra XT variant joins the lineup, producing 338 horsepower.

An upgraded battery system improves the Solterra's range from 225 to over 285 miles per charge, according to Subaru estimates. Plus, thanks to the new battery preconditioning system, the Solterra can charge more efficiently in various temperature conditions. With Level 2 (240V) home charging, the 2026 Solterra can conveniently replenish its battery overnight. Or you can use the upgraded DC fast-charging capability (150 kW) to charge from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes at a compatible station, including the Tesla Supercharger network, thanks to new NACS compatibility.

The Solterra's cabin offers a clean, modern layout that feels spacious and thoughtfully designed. Its flat floor and wide seating positions help maximize legroom, while optional amenities like a panoramic glass roof brighten up the space.
