If there was any doubt about the sure-footedness of the remarkably composed 2018 Subaru WRX sports sedan, the automaker put that to rest recently by sending the WRX rocketing down a banana-peel-strewn roadway. Torque News recently spotlighted a highly entertaining video clip of Subaru's latest unorthodox surface test that showcases the vehicle's superb symmetrical all-wheel drive system.
The test was conducted by Subaru Canada on a 100 km track strewn with hundreds of banana peels and then sprayed down with water. The WRX handled the run with poise and grace. Subaru's all-wheel drive system is integrated into the vehicle from the start, which ensures that power is distributed to all four wheels all the time for maximum traction and control. The 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer four-cylinder engine pumps out 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
